Deep in the western ghats in the district of Shimoga it holds its tenth place in being the highest peak in the state. Kodachadri is home to many lush green jungles, animals, landscapes, waterfalls, and dense tropical forests. The place is located in Mookambika wildlife sanctuary. Which also forms a perfect backdrop to the Moola Mookambika Temple, which is believed to be the place of Goddess Mookambika. Catching a view of evening sunset into the Arabian Sea from the peak, it offers enchanting and mesmerizing, which is a combination of mountains and oceans.  

The beauty of Kodachadri trek is located in the middle of Mookambika National Park which has existed since the time of immemorial. The hill got it name from a flowering plant which is called “Jasmine Of The Hills” it is a scenic peak with dense forest all around covering it. The place has an altitude of 1,343m above the sea level.

The creatures in the forest give an occasional appearance on the trek to the waterfall. Twenty minutes of scrambling and stumbling after which the trail opens up into an open field of huts and agricultural land.
